CC Finance: Experts in the care sector

Registration

Once you have selected the home of your choice, the third thing you should do after talking to us, and obtaining the vendors permission to do so, is to contact the appropriate office of the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI, pron. 'cee-sky') and request the relevant application pack. The pack you require will depend upon how you are buying the home, i.e. as a sole trader, in partnership or via a limited company.

“The Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) registers, inspects and reports on adult social care services, and councils who arrange these services, in England”.

England is regulated by the CSCI. All the relevant application forms and guidance notes can be downloaded from www.csci.org.uk.

Depending upon the location of the home, it will be regulated by either one of the regional or area offices.

Scotland is regulated by the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care. Click here to register or here to find a regional office.

Wales is regulated by the Care Standards Inspectorate for Wales.

Northern Ireland has one authority which is responsible for both registration and inspection, the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQiA)
